How To Care For Your Kaïa Swimwear

Our Kaïa swimwear is consciously designed for you to enjoy on many many holidays in the sun. We have carefully chosen world renowned recycled fabric that is made in Italy and has been tested and improved extensively.

We have drawn up some handy guidelines for you how to extend the life span of your Kaïa garments by the care tips below.

How to wash you swimwear

This is one of the most important tips we can give you. How you wash your swimwear decides for a huge part how long you can enjoy your favorite items in the sun. We strongly advise not putting your Kaïa items in the washing machine. The reason for this is that it’s very difficult to regulate the temperature of a washing machine even if you put it on a hand wash program. Besides that, there is a lot of harsh detergent and chemicals left that can effect the fabric of your swimwear.

What type of soap to use

If you want to wash your Kaïa swimsuits, we recommend putting them in a clean sink with cold water. If your bikini or bathing suit has some stains on them, you can use a mild detergent preferably eco-friendly such as Seventh Generation soap that is almost 100% plant based or Neutral.

Next step is to rinse the bathing suit with cold water until the water is soap-free. Try squeezing the water out of your garments instead of wringing it out which can cause damage to the material.

How to dry your swimsuits

We advise to put your bikini’s or bathing suit on a flat and dry surface out of direct sunlight to let it air dry. Never put your swimwear in the drying machine as this will effect the stretching and shape of the material and cause for a shorter live span. Besides of course it being better for the environment to just let your swimwear air-dry.

Things to avoid

We can imagine you’re planning many great adventures in your Kaïa swimsuit during your holiday. And we love to see it! Just as all swimwear materials are made of delicate fabrics it is better to avoid rough surfaces such as rocks, wood or rough surfaced tiles. The chance that your swimwear get pulling and snagging of the fabric is quite high. Other things to be aware of while wearing our Kaïa items are certain tanning oils, sunscreen and fake tanning products that can leave stains.

Lastly, we hope you’ll love your Kaïa swimsuits as much as we do. The last tip to enjoy them as long as possible is to take turns with your favorites. So make sure you have enough. After all.. there is no such thing as having enough bikini’s and bathing suits to choose from. 😉
